Course: RYA Dayskipper theory (also known as 'Dayskipper shorebased') Course

Duration: 5 days (in a week) or 6 days over three weekends or about 22 weeks of 3 hour evening sessions.

Likely participants: The course is equally applicable for sail or power boaters and suits those keen to spend a good amount of time developing their theoretical knowledge away from the water. It acts as an excellent follow on to level 2 or as an essential ahead of the advanced course.

Course description:

This is an excellent course to take as it goes into far more detail about aspects of safety, boat types, weather, navigation, charts, ColRegs etc than can be achieved over the duration of a short practical course. Entirely classroom based the course lasts 5 days or three weekends depending on the course you want to attend. This is an ideal course for a Powerboat Level 2 or Motor Cruising Helmsman 'graduates' to take to build on their knowledge or as a prerequisite for the Advanced powerboat course. Equally if you intend taking Dayskipper practical then taking this course will allow more of your practical course to be dedicated to the practical aspects of the course

Prior experience: None assumed
