About the school:

The Powerboat School is based in the bustling Hamble Rive next to the excellent training ground of Southampton Water & the Solent.

Based in the village of Hamble, Hampshire, The Powerboat School, a R.Y.A. - Recognised Training Centre, is located at the heart of one of the most popular boating areas in the UK.

All courses are run at our comfortable and well equipped training centre next to Port Hamble Marina.  This marina with its excellent facilities, is also the operating base for all Powerboat Courses.

Shore-based training is completed using some of the most modern classroom equipment including actual VHF-DSC radio simulators.

Powerboat Courses operate using our new ‘Ribcraft’ Rib which is fully equipped including Global Positioning Systems, Chart Plotter, Depth Sounder and VHF-DSC Radio.  Lifejackets and waterproof clothing are also provided.

On the water, our training area includes ‘The Solent’ which has for many years been regarded as one of the best training grounds for both Powerboating and Sailing in the UK.

At The Powerboat School, we firmly believe that a combination of excellent training areas, new, up-to-date equipment and friendly, knowledgeable instructors will ensure that you get the most from your chosen course and that your experience will be thoroughly enjoyable.
